The Puerto Rican Soccer Federation announced last week that after a week-long series of tryouts in January, UC Riverside midfielder Tyler Wilson has earned a spot on the Puerto Rico U21 National Team Pool. The selected players from this pool will compete in the Central American and Caribbean Games in July of 2010 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Wilson scored two goals and added an assist in his first season with the Highlanders in 2009 following a successful two-year stint at Mt. San Antonio College. The first goal of his UC Riverside career was the game-winner in a 2-1 win over San Jose State.
