Jamie Raney Wins At #1 Singles For Women's Tennis In 6-1 Loss To UCSB

Riverside, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Tennis Team returned to Big West Conference action Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 loss to UC Santa Barbara.
The Gauchos won the doubles point with an 8-1 victory at number two and an 8-0 win at number three. The match at the top spot when unfinished once UCSB had the point in hand.
In singles action, Jamie Ramey won at number one for the Highlanders, 6-2, 6-3 over UCSB's April Scatliffe. Taylor Raney took her match to three sets at #2 before falling to Kiersten Meehan, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
Each of the other four matches went in favor of UC Santa Barbara for the 6-1 victory.
Next up for the Highlanders is a Sunday, February 10 match against Southern Utah at 12 pm PT at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside.
