Softball to Face CBU and CSUN on the Road

RIVERSIDE, Calif.—After a long home stand at Amy S. Harrison Field the UC Riverside Softball Team (20-15, 3-3) will test its might on the road this week, as the Highlanders take a quick break from Big West play at Cal Baptist (16-23) Wednesday night, before heading to CSUN (18-21, 2-4) for a weekend series. The Crosstown Showdown with the Lancers will be the first meeting between the two teams at the DI level and is set for 6 PM at John C. Funk Stadium.

CSUN SERIES SCHEDULE
Game 1 - Saturday, April 13th @ 1PM
Game 2 - Saturday, April 13th @ 3:30PM
Game 3 - Sunday, April 14th @ 1PM

ON THE ATTACK
UC Riverside has performed well at the plate this year at the Highlanders' .279 team batting average ranks third in the Big West as does their .365 team OBP. The team has also put runs on the board in 31 of its 35 games.

BOLES IN THE CIRCLE
Junior Jacy Boles has already put together a career season this year posting a 10-4 record, a team best 3.42 ERA and a team high 74 strikeouts, which ranks fifth in the Big West. Hitters have struggled to get on base against Boles hitting just .249, which ranks ninnth in conference.

VETE-RUNS
The Highlanders veterans have set the tone on the base paths so far this year as juniors Danielle Ortega, Emma Ramelot, and senior Brittney Garcia have combined for 77 runs this year. Ramelot leads the way with 28, which ranks fourth in conference.

WHEELS
The Highlanders have been successful when gambling on the base paths this year stealing 28 bases in just 32 attempts, which is the third most in the Big West. In return they have hosed six runners of their own on the defensive end.
