Two UC Davis Goals In Final Seven Minutes Give Aggies 2-1 Win Over UCR
10/7/2009 3:43:14 PM | Men's Soccer
The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team took a 1-0 lead late into the second half, but UC Davis scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute and the go-ahead goal shortly thereafter to take a 2-1 win over the Highlanders.
UC Riverside (1-9-0, 0-2-0) got on the board first with a little help from the Aggies as UC Davis accidentally deflected a Tyler Wilson (pictured) shot into their own net for a 1-0 Highlanders lead with three minutes to go before the half.
UC Riverside's defense held up through most of the second period, but UCD (5-7-0, 2-1-0) managed to tie the match on John Joslin's free kick from 20 yards out with seven minutes to go. Three minutes later Dan Reese took a Paul Marcoux pass and one-touched it past Highlanders keeper Cody Suppé for the game-winning goal.
The Highlanders return home this Saturday for a 7 pm PT tilt with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos.
