Kyle Austin Named Big West Conference Player of the Week

UC Riverside sophomore forward Kyle Austin picked up his second Big West Player of the Week Award on Monday after averaging 21.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in the Highlanders games against Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine.
The Pasadena, CA native scored 21 points and grabbed 10 boards in UCR's 63-60 win over Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 26. That win was the 16th of the season for the Highlanders - the most since the 1997-98 team finished the year at 16-10.
Austin followed up that performance with another double-double - his third of the season - scoring a career-high tying 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in UC Riverside's 78-70 overtime loss at UC Irvine.
