Cowling Named Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month

Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with UC Riverside athletics and chosen women's volleyball player Dominique Cowling (pictured) as the September recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." Please visit the Budweiser Responsibility Matters web page for past recipients.
Cowling opened the 2009 volleyball season by earning All-Tournament honors at the Utah Classic. In the Highlanders 3-1 loss to Cincinnati on August 28, the Benicia, CA native recorded a team-high 14 kills while hitting .257 for the match.
Against No. 17 ranked Utah the next day, she tallied a game-high 18 kills and nine digs while hitting .400. She also posted seven kills and seven digs later that day against Arizona State.
Cowling led the Highlanders with weekly totals of 39 kills, 3.90 kills per game, and a .230 attack percentage while finishing second in digs (22).
