
UC Riverside Cross Country Ranked Top-10 Regionally

New Orleans, LA - The NCAA Division I Cross Country Preseason Regional Polls were released today, and the UC Riverside cross country teams find themselves among the top-10 in the West Region. View the complete men's and women's rankings.
The women's team is ranked sixth in the region behind five Pac-10 teams and is the top Big West competitor. The University of Washington earned the West Region's first-place nod followed by Oregon, Stanford, Arizona State, and Arizona. Other Big West schools ranked include UC Davis (8th) and UC Irvine (14th).
On the men's side, the Highlanders rank ninth regionally ahead of Big West competitors UC Santa Barbara (11th), UC Davis (12th), and Long Beach State (14th). Only the Cal Poly men's team, tabbed first in the Big West Preseason Poll, claims a higher spot (4th) than the UCR men.
The Highlanders cross country programs host the 29th Annual UC Riverside Cross Country Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 19 at the UCR Ag/Ops Course. The women's race begins at 7:30 am followed by the men's race at 8:15 am.
