Austin Named Budweiser Responsbility Matters Good Sport Of The Month

Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with UC Riverside athletics and chosen men's basketball player Kyle Austin as the January recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." Please visit the Budweiser Responsibility Matters web page to view past recipients.
The Highlanders are off to their second best start since making the transition to Division I, and Austin is leading the way averaging a team-best 16.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Already this season he has six 20-point scoring performances including a career-high 28 aginst San Diego on December 4. The 6-8 junior also has four double-doubles in 2009-10, and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds on two occasions including most recently at Southern Utah on December 21.
Next up for Austin and UC Riverside is a Saturday, January 9 meeting with Cal State Fullerton. Tip is scheduled for 4 pm, and the game is being televised regionally on FSN West.
