3/10/2010 11:43:39 AM | Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
Fayetteville, AR—While her teammates were opening the outdoor track and field season at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton, California on Saturday, March 6, senior triple jumper Allison Wilder headed northward to the University of Washington Final Qualifier Meet.
Affectionately known as the "Last Chance Meet" in track and field circles, the Final Qualifier Meet provides the last opportunity for indoor track and field athletes to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships held this year in Fayetteville, Arkansas. As it turns out, it was time well spent for the Covina, California native as she bettered her school mark with a leap of 13.13m, winning the event and punching her ticket to Fayetteville.
For complete information on the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, please visit the official championship website.
Wilder and Assistant Track & Field Coach Andy Basler depart for the NCAAs on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 10. Thursday is a practice day for the student-athletes at Walker Pavilion and John McDonnell Field, and the NCAA hosts a banquet for all the competitors that evening.
The triple jump is slated to begin on Saturday, March 13 at 4:30 pm PT.
ESPN360.com will stream the championships live beginning at 6 p.m. CST on Friday, March 12 and 4:10 p.m. CST on Saturday, March 13. NCAA.com and ArkansasRazorbacks.com will stream supplemental coverage as available when ESPN360.com is not live.
Live results can be found at ArkansasRazorbacks.com. ESPN2 will air a 90-minute show at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17.
