Gaels Snap Softball's Winning Streak With 7-0 Win At Aggie Stampede

Davis, CA - The UC Riverside softball team returned to action on Friday afternoon for its first game at the UC Davis Aggie Stampede, but Saint Mary's snapped the Highlanders five-game winning streak with a 7-0 win at La Rue Field.
UCR's (14-15) bats were held at bay as they tallied just four hits on the day and were held scoreless for the first time in a dozen games.
Marissa Alvidrez was saddled with the loss for UCR, allowing seven runs, four of them earned, and 11 hits in six innings of work.
The Highlanders best scoring opportunity came in the fifth inning as the team had runners at second and third base, but UCR could not take advantage of its base runners as the third out ended the inning.
UC Riverside continues play at the Aggie Stampede with games against Sac State and #13 Cal on Saturday, Mar. 27 at 9:00 am and 1:15 pm respectively.
