Stockton, CA—The UC Riverside Highlanders and the University of the Pacific Tigers battled to a 1-1 tie at Stagg Memorial Stadium in Stockton on Friday night.
The Highlanders got on the board first with an unassisted goal from freshman Renee Scachetti in the 33th minute. The Tigers answered in the second half with a goal by Jaimi Corona-Flowers in the 69th minute.
Scachetti had an opportunity to score in overtime with a one-on-one with the UOP 'keeper Megan Pickering but was denied and the game ended in a 1-1 tie
In her first start since September 6 against San Diego, Highlander 'keeper Katie Blank recorded a season-high 10 saves while her counterpart had 11 saves. UOP outsot UCR, 25-16.
The Highlanders will return to action on the road at the Cal State Northridge in a Big West Conference match on Sunday, October 6 at 2:30 PM.
