Riverside—UC Riverside Head Men's Basketball Coach Jim Wooldridge flexed his culinary muscles this past weekend by taking part in the YWCA of Riverside County's 20th Annual Men Who Cook fundraiser. The event raised money in support of YWCA programs and services and assists in funding the Brown Family Scholarship to help graduating Riverside high school senior girls attend college.
Prep time for Coach Wooldridge and his fellow chefs began early Saturday morning with the final dishes ready to face the judges by 3:30 pm. The general public arrived by 4 pm and participated in the 50/50 raffle and silent auction as the judging continued. Judging ended at 4:30 pm and was followed by the handing out of awards and a live auction.
Coach Wooldridge was joined at the event by Director of Basketball Operations John Smallwood and current Highlanders player Kareem Nitoto.
