Nix Named Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport Of The Month

Riverside—Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen baseball player Tony Nix as the June recipient of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." The junior outfielder batted .451 in the month of May with 32 hits, 25 runs, 28 RBI, 10 doubles, and nine home runs while posting an on base percentage of .500 with a slugging percentage of .972.
On May 17, he was named Big West Baseball Player of the Week and earned National Player of the Week honors a day later after hitting .654 with nine extra base hits, 11 runs scored, 15 RBIs, 33 total bases and a 1.269 slugging percentage during the week of May 10-16.
The Highlanders went 11-8 including an 8-6 record in league play during the month of May, as they concluded the 2010 season in third place in the Big West standings.
