Two NCAA Tourney Teams, Texas Trip Highlight Women's Soccer Schedule

Riverside—UC Riverside Head Women's Soccer Coach Veronica O'Brien announced today that the Highlanders 2010 schedule features two matches against 2009 NCAA Tournament participants and a trip through the Lone Star State with matches against Texas and Texas State (download Women's Soccer Schedule wallpaper).
UCR opens the season with a pair of home matches against UNLV of the Mountain West Conference (Friday, August 20, 7 pm PT) and Seattle from the Great West (Friday, August 27, 7 pm).
The Highlanders then hit the road for four matches beginning with a two-game swing through Texas where they will face Southland Conference foe Texas State (Friday, September 3, 5 pm) and Texas of the Big 12 (Sunday, September 5, 5 pm). They close out the trip with a pair of matches in the northern part of California when they take on San Francisco (Friday, September 10, 7 pm) and San Jose State (Sunday, September 12, 1 pm).
On September 24 and 26, UCR will head to UC Irvine for the Anteater Invitational. They begin the weekend with a 3 pm meeting with Nevada, and close things out with an 11 am match against 2009 NCAA Sweet 16 team Oregon State.
Big West play gets underway on October 1 as the Highlanders host 2009 conference champion UC Santa Barbara at 7 pm. The regular season comes to an end with a Sunday, October 31 road match at Pacific.
The top four teams in the conference advance to the Big West Tournament which is slated for Thursday, November 4 and Sunday, November 7.
