Hollywood, CA—Former UC Riverside baseball player Stephen Bishop, who has been pursuing an acting career since hanging up his baseball spikes, is slated to play former major-leaguer David Justice in the upcoming movie adaptation of the best-selling Michael Lewis book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game."

Also set to star in the project are Jonah Hill (Knocked Up, Superbad), Robin Wright (The Princess Bride, Forrest Gump) and Oscar-winner Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Capote, Almost Famous).
After graduating from UC Riverside, Bishop signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves. He played in 20 games for the team's Idaho Falls affiliate in the Pioneer League in 1993 where he hit .382 with a .455 on base percentage and a .559 slugging percentage.
In 1994 he played for the Sioux Falls Canaries and the St. Paul Saints of the Northern League, and in 1995 he suited up for the High Desert Mavericks, the advanced A ball team for the Baltimore Orioles.
Since making the move to Hollywood, Bishop has appeared alongside the likes of Will Smith in "Hancock" and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in "The Rundown." His television credits include episodes of "Lost," "Grey's Anatomy," "CSI: Miami" and "Friday Night Lights."
