UC Riverside Men's Soccer Drops 5-0 Decision At Cal Poly

San Luis Obispo, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team continues to struggle away from the friendly confines of the UCR Soccer Stadium, as the Highlanders road record dropped to 2-4 on the season following Sunday afternoon's 5-0 loss at Cal Poly. (Box Score)
UCR remains unbeaten at home at 4-0-1, and the team's overall mark now stands at 6-4-1 including 1-2-0 in confernce.
The Mustangs (5-4-2, 2-1-0) controlled the match from the get go Sunday outshooting the Highlanders 13-3 in the first 45 minutes play. Ian Clark put Cal Poly on the board in the 27th minute of play as he collected a Cameron Walters pass and beat UCR keeper Cody Suppé for the 1-0 Mustangs lead.
Just under six minutes later, Chris Gaschen scored his first goal of the season on a put back that put Poly up 2-0.
After the break, Mac Pridham netted his second goal of the season off of a Cashen assist to stake the Mustangs to a 3-0 advantage.
Nolan Moore and Kyle Montgomery added goals in the 85th and 89th minute respectively for the final 5-0 margin of victory.
The Highlanders return home Wednesday, October 12 for a 7 pm PT meeting with UC Irvine. The Anteaters are currently ranked seventh in the nation by the NSCAA and ninth by Soccer America.
