
UC Riverside 2012 Baseball Season Begins Feb. 17 With DH vs. BYU

Riverside—UC Riverside Head Baseball Coach Doug Smith announced today that the team will begin its 2012 regular season schedule with a double header vs. BYU at the Riverside Sports Complex on February 17. (View the entire 2012 Baseball schedule)
Season tickets are now available online or by contacting the UC Riverside Athletics Ticket Office at (951) 827-4653. Single-game tickets go on sale January 1, 2012.
The schedule also features 13 games against teams that participated in the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
Following the opening three-game series with BYU, the Highlanders host San Diego State on February 21 before traveling to Super Regional participant Arizona State for a three-game series from February 24-26.
On March 6, the Highlanders travel to UCLA for a meeting with the 2010 NCAA runners-up.
2011 WAC Champion Fresno State hosts UC Riverside for a three-game set from March 23-25.
Big West Conference play gets underway for the Highlanders with a three-game home series against UC Santa Barbara from March 30-April 1. UCR travels to UC Irvine from Apri 27-28 and to Cal State Fullerton from May 18-20.
The regular season concludes with a three-game series vs. Cal Poly at the Riverside Sports Complex from May 25-27.
The Highlanders finished with a 29-23 mark a year ago including an 11-13 record and fifth place finish in conference.
