Men's Golf In 8th Place After Two Rounds At Big West Championship

Mission Viejo, CA - The UC Riverside men's golf team shot a 620 two-round score on Monday to place 8th out of 9 teams at the Big West Championship at Mission Viejo Country Club.
The Highlanders are just five strokes behind seventh-place Cal State Fullerton and nine back of six-place UC Santa Barbara.
UCR shot 307 in the first round to tie for sixth, but shot 313 in round two to move back into eighth.
Leading the way for the Highlanders is Robbie Mamo, who is tied for 19th with a 152 total (75-77).
Kevin Fitzgerald shot 75-79 (154) to place 26th, while Matt Fitzgerald and Daniel Brainard shot identical 157 scores to tie for 32nd.
Rounding out the squad is Andrew Patipaksiri, who is 44th with a 178 (87-91).
UC Davis leads the team competition with an even-par 576. Pacific is in second with a 584, while Cal Poly is third with 587.
Cal State Northridge and UC Irvine round out the top-5 with scores of 589 and 600 respectively.
UC Davis' Austin Graham is the individual leader with a four-under 140 total.
The third and final round of the Big West Championship tees off Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 a.m. Live scoring of the event can be viewed at www.golfstat.com.
