Aggies Beat Highlanders, 77-52

The Utah State Aggies got 17 points from Spencer Nelson to help them to a 77-52 Big West Conference basketball win over visiting UC Riverside in Logan, UT Saturday.
With the win USU improved to 13-5 overall and 4-3 in the Big West, while the Highlanders fell to 6-10 and 2-5.
Utah State jumped out to a 10-point and held a double-digit margin for most of the game.
UC Riverside was led by Rickey Porter, who scored 19 points. Larry Cunningham chipped in 10 points off the bench. Carroll was the only other Aggie in double figures as he scored 11 points while adding five rebounds. USU shot 50.9 percent from the field almost doubling the Highlanders' 28.6 percent effort. UCR was 10-of-23 from the three point line and 10-of-14 from the free throw line.
UC Riverside returns home on Thursday, January 27, 2005 to host UC Santa Barbara in the start of Homecoming Weekend celebrations.
