UCR's Three-Time All-American Brenda Martinez Takes Mile At US Open

New York, NY—UC Riverside's three-time All-American Brenda Martinez used her trademark final kick to pull away from the competition in the mile at the Inaugural US Open at Madison Square Garden over the weekend.
Her time of 4:34.62 bested the likes of Sara Vaughn and Anna Pierce, and was punctuated with a final quarter mile time of 65 seconds. ESPN2 has coverage of the meet today (Sunday, January 29) beginning at 4 pm PT.
