Highlanders Sweep Big West Cross Country Athlete Of The Week Awards

Irvine, CA—The Big West Conference announced today that UC Riverside's Seth Totten and Damajeria DuBose have been named the league's Male Athlete of the Week and Female Athlete of the Week respectively for races ran over this past weekend.
UC Riverside hosted its 32 Annual Invitational Saturday morning, and DuBose finished third individually out of 132 runners to pace the women's cross country team to a second place finish out of 16 teams in the 6k Invitational.
DuBose's time of 20:33.4 was a personal-best and just three seconds behind the winner, Southern Utah's Jamie Smith (20:30.6), and a second back of Sylvia Bedford of SUU (20:32.5).
On the men's side, Totten placed fourth out of 163 individuals to lead the Men's Cross Country Team to a fourth place finish out of 19 teams in the 8k Invitational race.
Both DuBose and Totten finished as the top runner from the individuals competing from the Big West.
The Highlanders now have a week off before preparing for the Dellinger Invitational on Saturday, September 29 in Eugene, OR.
