
Big West Conference Releases 2013 Preseason Baseball Coaches Poll

Irvine, CA—The Big West Conference released the 2013 Preseason Baseball Coaches Poll today, and league coaches are predicting a seventh place finish for the Highlanders this season in the 10-team league (View the full conference release).
Cal State Fullerton was selected to repeat as conference champs with nine coaches slotting the Titans in the top spot. UC Irvine was picked to finish second, and received the other first-place vote.
UC Riverside is coming off of an eighth place finish a year ago with an overall record of 22-3,2 and a Big West mark of 9-15. The Highlanders return all but one position player from last year's team, and lose just one starting pitcher.
The 2013 UCR Baseball season begins Saturday, February 9 with the annual alumni game at the Riverside Sports Complex. The regular season gets underway in Palm Springs as the Highlanders play four games at Oregon State's Palm Springs Tournament from February 15-18 (View the full schedule).
