Women's Golf Falls Back To Seventh To Conclude Cowgirl Intercollegiate

Palm Desert - The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team concluded the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate on Sunday afternoon in seventh place out of 20 teams with a total three-round score of 921.
The Highlanders were tied for fifth coming into the final round, but a 310 third-round score moved them back one spot, just two strokes behind Hawai'i (919).
Cal State Fullerton won the team competition by one stroke over Cal State Northridge, 909 to 910. Rollins College place third with a 912 followed by Western Carolina and San Francisco in a tie for fourth with identical 913 scores.
Savannah Vilaubi tied for seventh overall to pace UC Riverside, shooting a 224 (74-77-73). Isabelle Shee fired rounds of 75-74-79 (228) to tie for 17th place while Haley Wian came in 25th with 79-75-76 (230).
Brittani Ferraro shot 241 (82-77-82) to tie for 65th while Paris Griffith rounded out the squad in 75th place with a 244 (80-82-82).
Cal Poly's Taylor Yoshitake won the individual title on a scorecard playoff with a 213 total.
The Highlanders now prepare for the Lady Mustang Invitational scheduled for October 28-29 in Arroyo Grande, CA.
