Women's Golf Opens Folino Invitational In 8th Place; Ferraro Tied For 7th

City of Industry, CA - Brittani Ferraro shot a 75 Sunday in the first round of the Folino Invitational to lead the UC Riverside Women's Golf Team to an eighth place finish out of 12 teams with two rounds to play at Industry Hills Golf Club. Complete Results
As a team, the Highlanders fired a 316 and are only four strokes back of third place. Gonzaga is the current leader with a 303 first round score while Boise State sits in second at 307.
Six teams, including UC Riverside, are within four strokes of one another from third to eighth place.
Ferraro's 75 ties her for seventh individually out of 69 golfers. Savannah Vilaubi carded a 79 and is in 28th place while Hannah Lee shot 80 to tie for 32nd.
Christy Fogerty is in 39th place with an 82, while Amelia Ek shot 85 to tie for 58th. Playing as an individual, Tiffany Koyano carded a 100 to place 69th.
Cal State Fullerton's Kristen Aiu leads the individual field with a two-over-par 73.
The second round of the Folino Invitational continues Monday with tee times off hole #1 at 7:20 am.
