Softball Falls To San Diego, 5-0, In Amy S. Harrison Classic Opener

Riverside—The UC Riverside Softball Team gave up five runs in the top of the first inning Friday afternoon to San Diego, and neither team scored the rest of the way as the Torerros (5-4) claimed the 5-0 victory in game three of the Amy S. Harrison Classic.
Alyssa Razo was in the circle for the Highlanders (2-8) in the top of the first, giving up three hits and five runs early. UCR also committed two errors before getting out of the inning.
Relief pitcher Ashely Ercolano allowed only two hits the rest of the way for San Diego, but the Highlanders bats failed to put a rally together while leaving eight runners stranded.
The Highlanders return to action on Saturday with two games scheduled in the Amy S. Harrison Classic, an 11:30 am contest against Boise State and a 2:00 pm game vs Weber State.
