Riverside - The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team battled through rain and hail Friday afternoon in its dual match against Western Illinois at Oak Quarry Golf Club. The Highlanders completed their 18 holes without an opponent, as the Fighting Leathernecks pulled out midway through due to the weather.
David Gazzolo led the eight-man contingent of UCR golfers shooting a 74, while Christian Rajcic fired 78 and BJ Doucett and Robbie Mamo each carded a 79.
Ryan Smith finished with an 80, Bradley Fox came in with an 83, Matt Fitzgerald fired an 85, and Jason Semthiti shot an 86.
UC Riverside has two days off before competiting in The Farms Collegiate Invitational on February 11-12 in Rancho Santa Fe.
