Men's Golf Concludes Triumph At Pauma Valley In Third Place

Pauma Valley, CA - The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team concluded the 2013 Triumph at Pauma Valley Tournament in third place out of nine teams with a three-round score of 902.
The Highlanders were in third following the first day of action, and kept ahold of their spot firing a third-round 299.
"Today's end result was a small step in the right direction," Head Coach Eric Riehle stated. "Hopefully we can build on this finish as we move closer to the Big West Conference Championship at the end of next month."
San Francisco held on for the team title with an 861 score, two shots lower than second-place BYU (863). BYU's Justin Keiley won the individual field with a one-under-par 212.
Jason Semthiti was UCR's top finisher, placing 10th out of 52 golfers with scores of 72-76-74 (222). David Gazzolo placed 14th with a 225 (75-77-73) while Ryan Smith tied for 20th with a 230 (75-77-78).
BJ Doucett came in 22nd place with scores of 77-80-74 (231), while Matt Fitzgerald rounded out the squad in 29th with a 234 (76-75-83).
The HIghlanders have a few weeks off before returning to action at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic April 8-9 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
