Women's Golf Falls To 11th After Two Rounds At Fresno State Lexus Classic

Fresno, CA—After a first-round 303 that saw them place fifth, the UC Riverside Women's Golf Team dropped down to 11th after a second round score of 313 Monday afternoon at the Fresno State Lexus Classic. The Highlanders 616 two-round score is only three back of a tie for eighth, and 11 behind a tie for fourth.
Tulsa paces the team field with a 594 score while fellow Big West Conference foes Long Beach State and UC Irvine are in second and third respectively with 597 and 601 totals.
UCR's Amelia Ek carded a 147 (75-72) and is tied for sixth to lead the squad. Long Beach State's Simone Hoey and UC Irvine's Luciane Lee are tied atop the leaderboard with identical 141 scores.
Savannah Vilaubi is tied for 22nd with scores of 72-80-152, while Brittani Ferraro is in 53rd with a 158 (77-81).
Christy Fogerty is tied for 66th place with a 160 (79-81), while Hannah Lee rounds out the team with a 163 (83-80) to tie for 73rd.
The tournament concludes Tuesday morning with a final 18-hole round beginning at 7 am PT.
