Men's Golf Slips To Eighth After Second Round At Big West Championships

San Jacinto, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Golf fired a 305 score Monday in the second round of the Big West Conference Championship to move down into eighth place out of 10 teams with a two-day total of 607.
The Highlanders are three strokes ahead of Cal State Northridge and four in front of Cal Poly. Pacific took control of the team lead with a 587 two-round score, followed by Cal State Fullerton (591) in second and UC Davis (592) in third.
Long Beach State (593) sits fourth while Hawai'i (596) is in fifth, UC Santa Barbara (597) in sixth, and UC Irvine (598) in seventh.
After opening with an even-par 72, David Gazzolo shot 76 on Monday to slip down into a tie for 13th place with a 148 total. Jason Semthiti is tied for 18th place after two rounds of 75 for a 150 total.
Ryan Smith (79-76) and Christian Rajcic (77-78) shot identical 155 two-day totals to tie for 38th, while BJ Doucett is in 46th place with a 162 (78-84).
Cal State Fullerton's Corey Gard continues to pace the individual field with a four-under-par 140.
The final round of the 2013 Big West Conference Championship gets underway with tee times beginning at 7:15 am PT Tuesday.
