San Diego, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team remained among the ranks of the undefeated Friday evening as they went on the road to San Diego and emerged with a 0-0 tie (Box Score)
The match was statistically even with the Highlanders outshooting the Toreros by the slimmest of margins, 14-13. Both teams registered five shots on goal and six corner kicks, while each goalkeeper recorded five saves.
UC Riverside had its best opportunities in the second overtime, though, as San Diego was issued two red cards in the extra stanza. Torrey Dearmas picked up the first one just 40 seconds in, and Eli Galbraith-Knapp received one at the 102:08 mark. The Highlanders outshot the Toreros 5-0 over the last seven-plus minutes, but couldn't find the back of the net.
The Highlanders are off for the remainder of the weekend, and will travel to CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, September 19 for a 7 pm PT kick off.
