Riverside—UC Riverside Women's Basketball athlete Kiara Harewood is in her junior season with the blue and gold, and we here at gohighlanders.com got to know her a little better this winter via our Highlander Highlights series.

Kiara ...
... is a junior from Pittsburg, CA
   ... majoring in public policy
      ... enjoys the outdoors
         ... is afraid of heights
... her worst injury was tendonitis
... loves fudge brownie ice cream
Kiara's favorite quote is, "There's nothing like deep breaths after laughing so hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons."
Her biggest accomplishment so far in life has been making her parents proud. It's an amazing feeling for Kiara to go home and have her parents be proud of the things she is doing at UC Riverside.
If Kiara could witness any event, she would want to have attended a Bob Marley Concert.
Her motto is: the secret to a great life is being able to experience life. To do this, you need to have an open mind by constantly trying new things and getting out of your comfort zone.
Five years from now, Kiara hope to be coaching women's basketball in a different state.
To get to know your student-athletes, keep a lookout for more Highlander Highlights!
