Riverside—Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with the UC Riverside Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and chosen men's basketball player Chris Patton and women's basketball player Natasha Hadley as its January recipients of the "Budweiser Responsibility Matters Good Sport of the Month." Please visit the Budweiser Responsibility Matters web page to view past recipients.
Patton, a starting forward, averaged 13.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg while shooting 49.4 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from the free throw line in the month of December. He has scored in double-digits in six of the Highlanders seven games played in December.
Patton's December play included a 92-77 win over La Verne (20 points, 8 rebounds (5 offensive) and 2 steals) (recap/box score) and a game against Northern Colorado (17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 blocks and 1 steal) which saw him shoot 50.0 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free throw line in only 24 minutes of play (recap/box score).
During the month of December, Hadley averaged 12.7 ppg—second highest on the team—5.7 rpg and 48.8 percent from the field. As a starting center, she tallied together 22 assists, 5 blocks and 4 steals.
Hadley led the team in points and rebounds in two games during December with one of those games against Pepperdine where she recorded her third double-double of the season, 16 points and 11 rebounds (recap/box score/video highlight).
Hadley matched her season-high of 21 points in a win over Bakerfield, to go along with a career-high of 8 assists (recap/box score/video highlight).
Anheuser-Busch congratulates Hadley and Patton for demonstrating that RESPONSIBILITY REALLY DOES MATTER!
