Women's Golf In First Place At Colby Invitational; Ferraro Tied For Second

San Jose, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team is in first place out of eight teams at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational, shooting a 614 two-round score on Monday. The Highlanders have a four-shot lead over second place Cal Poly, and boast three players in the top-10. Complete Results.
Brittani Ferraro is tied for second overall at 149 (75-74), just one stroke behind the leader, Santa Clara's Annie Freman. Haley Wian is tied for fourth at 151 (75-76) while Savannah Vilaubi is a stroke back at 152 (76-76) to tie for sixth.
Krista Twet carded scores of 80-82 (162) and is tied for 22nd while Hannah Facchini is tied for 26th with a 163 (80-83). Playing as an individual separate from the team competition, Yuri Ahn shot 89-82 (171) to tie for 36th.
UC Riverside last competed in the Colby Invitational in 2012, finishing fourth out of 11 teams with Vilaubi tying for sixth individually (story). In 2004, the Highlanders won the invitational with Courtney O'Neill taking home individual medalist honors.
The third and final round of the event gets underway Tuesday morning.
