Riverside—The National Soccer Coaches Association of America named UC Riverside's Tyler Cunningham and Amber Marani to the All-Region Second Team earlier this month following a season which saw the Highlanders post their first winning record since the 2006 campaign.
Cunningham set the program's single-season record for assists in 2014 with 10, adding three goals to lead the team with 16 points. At the end of the year, she was named to the All-Big West Second Team by the league's coaches.
The junior forward earned Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on August 25 after scoring a goal and adding two assists during the Highlanders games at the Rebel Classic (
story). She was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Tournament Outstanding Offensive Player and to the All-Tournament Team after helping the Highlanders defeat Grand Canyon (3-0) and Northern Arizona (4-2).
Marani was one of two Highlanders to play in and start all 18 matches on the season. The junior midfielder scored her lone goal of the year against Cal Poly on October 19 (

recap), and was named to the All-Big West First Team at the conclusion of the 2014 campaign.
