Vilaubi One Place Behind Leader As Women's Golf Sits 13th At UCI Inv. Presented By KIA

Santa Ana—UC Riverside Women's Golfer Savannah Vilaubi fired identical one-under-par 71's Monday in the first two rounds of the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia, and is in second place with a two-under-total of 142. Full Results.
Vilaubi sits just three shots back of the leader, Stanford's nationally ranked #8 Mariah Stackhouse, who leads with a five-under 139.
An LPGA experience is at stake here, as the winner of the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia will receive a sponsor exemption into the 2014 Kia Classic March 27-30 at Aviara Golf Club.
As a team, the Highlanders are 13th out of 13 squads finishing with scores of 310-317 for a 627 total. UCR is only two shots behind 12th-place Idaho, and 10 back of 10th.
No. 8 Stanford leads the team competition by 10 strokes over #37 Texas A&M, 578 to 588. No. 16 Pepperdine is in third place with a 592 while Gonzaga (598) and Long Beach State (604) round out the top five.
Other individual scores for UC Riverside include 160 (78-82) for Isabelle Shee to tie for 57th; a 162 (82-80) from Brittani Ferraro to tie for 62nd; a 164 (79-85) from Tina Nagai in 65th; and a 166 (65-67) from Haley Wian in 67th.
