Men's Golf Lowers Score But Remains In 13th To Conclude Fresno State Classic

Fresno, CA—The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team saved its lowest round for last on Tuesday shooting a 301, but it was not enough to make up ground as the team concluded the Fresno State Classic in 13th place out of 14 squads with a three-round score of 914.
The Highlanders came into the last round in 13th place after firing 305-308 during Monday's first and second rounds, and finished nine strokes behind 12th-place Sacramento State.
UC Santa Barbara earned the team championship firing an 873 score, while Nevada placed second with 876.
David Gazzolo was UC Riverside's top finisher, tying for 35th with consistent rounds of 76-76-75 (227).
Sam Gillis tied for 46th lowering his scores each round, 80-77-73, for a 230 total, while Pachara Sakulyong was one stroke back at 231 (76-79-76) to tie for 51st.
Brandon Tsujimoto tied for 58th place with a 235 (82-76-77) while Ryan Smith finished 79th with 82-80-79 (241). Jason Semthiti withdrew in the final round.
UCSB's Jordan Epstein won the individual title with a one-over-par 214 score.
The Highlanders have the next few weeks off before traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on April 7-8.
