Women's Golf Seventh After First Round Of Big West Conference Championship

San Luis Obispo, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team shot 316 in the first round of the Big West Conference Championship Sunday morning placing seventh out of eight teams with two rounds to go. Complete Results. View the photo gallery.
It is a familiar situation for the Highlanders, who were also in seventh last year after the first round before moving up each subsequent day to end up in fourth.
UCR's 316 is just three strokes behind sixth-place Cal Poly, and five ahead of Hawai'i in eighth.
No. 37 UC Davis leads the field with a 294 followed by Long Beach State (304) and UC Irinve (305). Cal State Northridge sits in fourth place with a 307 while Cal State Fullerton is fifth at 308.
Savannah Vilaubi is tied for 12th individually to lead the Highlanders, firing a first-round 75. Brittani Ferraro is tied for 18th after shooting 78, while Yuri Ahn is tied for 26th with 81.
Haley Wian and Isabelle Shee are both tied in 32nd place with identical scores of 82.
The second round of the Big West Championship is set to go off with tee times beginning at 9 am PT Monday morning.
