Men's Golf Ninth At Big West Conference Championship After First Round

San Jacinto, CA - The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team fired a 304 score in the first round of the Big West Conference Championship Sunday to place ninth out of nine teams with two rounds remaining. Complete Results. View the Photo Gallery.
The Highlanders are only one stroke behind eighth place, and less than 10 shots out of a tie for fourth. Cal State Fullerton leads the team competition with a one-under-par 287, followed by UC Davis in second at 289, and Hawai'i in third with 290.
Individually for UCR, David Gazzolo is tied for 12th to pace the squad, firing a 304. Sam Gillis is tied for 20th with 75 while Brandon Tsujitmoto shot 77 to tie for 30th.
Pachara Sakulyong is tied for 39th with a 79 while Leven Simon Seay rounds out the team in a tie for 42nd shooting 80.
UC Davis' Matt Hansen leads all players with a five-under-par 67, while five others are all under par.
