Riverside—UC Riverside Women's Golf athlete Haley Wian is in her freshman season with the blue and gold, and we here at gohighlanders.com got to know her a little better this spring via our Highlander Highlights series.

... is a freshman from Huntington Beach, CA
... first coach was John Anselmo, who was Tiger Wood's amateur instructor
... majoring in business
... met Chris Colfer from "Glee"
... loves doing art projects
... will not eat tomatoes
Haley believes that the sky is the limit on what you can achieve and that the biggest secret to a great life is hard work and a positive attitude.
Her biggest accomplishment so far has been playing college golf for a Division I school that has such a great golf program with so much potential and talent.
A fun fact about Haley is that her grandfather, Robert C. 'Bob' Wian was the founder of Bob's Big Boy.
Her worst injury was a back injury in middle school caused by playing volleyball and golf, and still flairs up on occasions.
Haley's favorite quote is, "Sometimes a winner is just a dreamer who won't quit."
