Low Second Round Pushes Women's Golf To Sixth After Day One Of The Gold Rush

Yorba Linda, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Golf Team had a strong showing in the second round of The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance Monday, shooting 317-301 for a 618 total, good enough for sixth out of 11 squads with one round remaining. Full Results.
The Highlanders were in seventh after the first round, but used four scores in the 70's, including a one-under 71 from Savannah Vilaubi, to jump up one spot past Cal Poly following round two. UCR is only four strokes behind UC Irvine and five back of Cal State Northridge in fourth.
No. 47 Gonzaga leads the field with a 592, followed by Long Beach State (605) and Cal State Fullerton (607).
Vilaubi is tied for fifth individually to lead the team carding 78-71 (149). Brittani Ferraro is 19th with scores of 80-74 (154) while Yuri Ahn fired identical 78's to tie for 22nd with a 156.
Haley Wian shot 82-78 (160) to tie for 36th while Isabelle Shee is tied for 39th with a 161 (81-80).
Playing as an individual, Paris Griffith carded scores of 86-88 (174) to finish 60th.
Gonzaga's Alice Kim is the current individual leader, shooting a four-under-par 140.
The third and final round of The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance gets underway with a shotgun start at 8 am PT Tuesday.
