Men's Golf Slips To 14th To Conclude Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Scottsdale, AZ—The UC Riverside Men's Golf Team slipped down to 14th place to conclude the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, finishing the three-round event with an 875 total score. The Highlanders finished only three shots back of UC Santa Barbara in 13th, and were within 10 strokes of 11th place.
UCR shot 286 in the first round on Monday to place 11th, but fell back to 12th after a second-round 295, and dropped down two more spots after a 294 in the third round.
Oklahoma won the 21-team event with an 831, folllowed by BYU and Colorado in a tie for second at 838.
Freshman Sam Gillis led the Highlanders with scores of 71-71-72 for a 214 total to tie for 26th place. Pachara Sakulyong came in 35th with a 216 (70-75-71) while David Gazzolo finished 46th at 218 (71-74-73).
Brandon Tsujimoto (74-77-79) and Ryan Smith (77-75-78) both tied for 97th with identical 230 three-round scores.
UC Riverside now heads to the OGIO Invitational April 14-15 in Santa Barbara, CA.
