Raquel Hefflin Named USTFCCCA National Women's Athlete Of The Week For NCAA Division I

New Orleans, LA—UC Riverside senior cross country runner Raquel Hefflin was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Assocation (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I women's national athlete of the week on Tuesday after her performance at the Nevada Twilight Classic on August 29. Hefflin won the 4k event in a course record time of 14:06, finishing ahead of the second-place finisher by 23 seconds. She helped the Highlanders finish third out of six teams in a field that featured three regionally ranked teams: Mountain Region No. 7 Nevada and No. 10 Utah, and West Region No. 8 UCLA.
UC Riverside returns to action on Saturday, September 13 hosting its annual UCR Invitational at the Ag/Ops Course in Riverside.
