Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Aggie Invitational

Las Cruces, NM—Heading into the final round of play at the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational, the Highlanders were alone in fourth, just two shots back of Idaho for third place, but the Highlanders were unable to close the distance on the third place Vandals as both team shot nine over pars on the day.

That wasn't enough to keep the Highlanders in fourth, though, as Iowa logged the best team round of the day, shooting even par, and passing UC Riverside by a stroke.

BYU finished atop the team leaderboard at five under par, a full five shots clear of host New Mexico State, who finished in second place at even par. The Big West was also represented by UC Irvine who finished in 10th.

New Mexico State's Vivian Macias (-6) shot a one-under 71 to claim the individual title, four shots ahead of BYU's Kendra Dalton (-2) who shot a final round 74.

The Highlanders were led by Jakeishya Le (74-70-75, 219) who finished tied for 10th, followed by Paris Griffith (72-79-72, 223, T19th), Hannah Facchini (76-75-73, 224, T22nd), Haley Wian (74-70-81, 225, T26th) and Krista Twet (83-79-77, 239, 64th).
