The Highlanders shot a nine-over par 289 on Monday with all five scores in the 70's.
UCR compiles a two-day score of 575. Cal State Fullerton leads the team competition with a 573 total—just two ahead of the Highlanders. UC Riverside is ten strokes ahead of fourth-place Cal Poly.
David Gazzolo is the Highlanders top finisher after two rounds tying for first with a 141 (67-74). He is one shot over-par and if two strokes ahead of three players that are in a tie for third. Gazzolor is tied with Pete Fernandez from UC Irvine who leapfrogged 10 spots after firing a 68 today.
Sam Gillis and Matt Lutz are tied for seventh, both shooting 145 over two days, while Andre Vu shot 77-71 (148) to tie for 17th. Anothony Bonales rounds out the squad in a tie for 24th, firing 73-76 (149)
The final round of the Big West Conference Championship gets underway Tuesday morning with tee times starting at 7:30 am PT.
