The Riverside native picked up his first goal in the 38th minute of play when he collected Johnny Tovar's deep ball down the right side of the field and slotted it past the Dons keeper to the near post from 15 yards out.
The Highlanders (2-3-0) took a 1-0 lead into the locker room, but added to it in the 56th minute when Ochoa got hold of a San Francisco header inside the Dons (2-3-0) defensive 18. After settling the ball, Ochoa ripped it towards the goal. It bounced off the keeper's hands and found its way into the net to put UCR up 2-0.
UC Riverside's third goal came just over three minutes later, originating with the Highlanders' goalkeeper, Vincent Morales, who was making his first career start between the pipes. UC Riverside connected on seven straight passes to move the ball up the field, and the final one settled at Ochoa's feet 30 yards away from the goal, and no defenders in his way. He drove towards the right side, and cut his shot back towards the far post for goal number three.
The Highlanders are on the road this Sunday, September 13 as they travel to nationally-ranked UCLA for a 5 pm PT kick off against the Bruins.
