Taylor Johns Named Big West Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

Irvine, CA—The Big West announced today that UC Riverside forward Taylor Johns is the conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from January 18-24.

The senior poured in a season-high 26 points Saturday, including 18 of the team's 36 in the second half, as the Highlanders upended Long Beach State, 74-72 (box score/recap). The win snapped a 12-game losing streak against the 49ers.
Johns was limited to just 15 minutes due to foul troubles against UC Davis on Thursday, but still scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds against the Aggies (box score/recap).
The San Francisco native ranks eighth in the conference in scoring (14.4 ppg), second in rebounding (7.7 rpg), and third in blocked shots (28).
