Women's Soccer Loses Heartbreaker To Hawai'i, 2-0

Box Score Honolulu, HI—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team lost a heartbreaker at Hawai'i Thursday evening, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Rainbow Wahine.

The teams appeared to be heading into the locker room at the half tied 0-0, but Hawai'i's Addie Steiner took a shot from 12 yards out with the clock running down, and the officials allowed the goal at the 45:00 minute mark.

UC Riverside argued that time had expired, but all they were shown for their trouble was a yellow card on the team bench.

The Highlanders pushed for the equalizer throughout the entire second half, but Steiner struck again in the 90th minute for the final two-goal margin of victory.

UCR has never won on the island, falling to 0-3-0 away from Riverside.

The Highlanders remain on the road next week traveling to CSUN Thursday, October 13 for a 7 pm meeting with the Matadors, before heading north to UC Davis for a Sunday, October 16 match against the Aggies at 1 pm.
