Dikymbe Martin Pours In 26 Points As Men's Basketball Tops Fresno Pacific, 96-50.

Box Score Riverside—Freshman Dikymbe Martin poured in a career-high 26 points on 11 of 13 shooting Saturday afternoon, as the UC Riverside Men's Basketball Team upended visiting Fresno Pacific for a 96-50 Homecoming victory.

The Sunbirds (0-4) kept things close during the first half, trailing by just six, 15-9, with 12:33 to go before the half. The Highlanders scored six straight points, and 12 of the next 15 en route to a 39-26 lead at the break.

Martin made all four of his field goal attempts and tied for the team scoring lead in the period with Chance Murray at eight apiece. UC Riverside (1-2) also owned the boards in the first, out-rebounding Fresno Pacific, 25-13

The Highlanders put the game away at the start of the second, scoring the first 15 points out of the intermission. Four different players scored during the run, as UCR built a 28-point lead, 54-26.

Martin took over the game from there, scoring 18 points in 15 second-half minutes. He also finished the night with five assists, four steals and no turnovers. Gentrey Thomas scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds over the final 20 minutes, finishing the night with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double.

UC Riverside shot 58.3 percent from the field in the second, while holding the Sunbirds to 25..9 percent. The Highlanders dominance inside continued as they finished with a 49-29 rebound advantage.

UC Riverside heads back out on the road next week traveling to Utah for a Friday, November 25 meeting with the Utes at 6 pm PT.
