Clovis, CA—The UC Riverside Track & Field Team will send Emily Sanchez and Ricky Wright, Jr. to the USA Junior Nationals this weekend, June 24-26, at Buchanan High School's Veteran's Memorial Stadium.

Emily Sanchez takes part in the Women's 5,000m on Friday, at 9 pm. Her top mark of the year came on April 1 at the UCLA Legends Invitational when she posted a time of 17:18.07, placing her eighth on the Highlanders' Top Performers List.

Ricky Wright Jr. competes in the Men's Long Jump on Friday, June 24 at 7 pm PT. His top mark of the season came on March 26 at the UC Riverside Spring Classic, as he cleared 7.18m (23' 6.75").

To be eligible for Junior Nationals, a student-athlete must be 19 years of age and under, and meet the minimum qualifying marks. For the Highlanders, those marks are 7.18m in the Men's Long Jump, and 17:38.50 in the Women's 5,000m.
