Men's Soccer Falls To Air Force In Overtime, 2-1

Colorado Springs, CO—The UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team took Air Force into overtime Sunday afternoon, but the Falcons' AJ Esparza scored with 2:43 gone in the first extra period to send the Highlanders to a 2-1 defeat.
Neither team scored in the first half of play, but Ricardo Ruiz put UC Riverside (2-3-0) up, 1-0, in the 49th minute of play. It was the second goal of the season for Ruiz.
Air Force (3-2-0) picked up the equalizer in the 65th minute as Klint Parker's header found its way passed Highlanders' keeper Victor Morales.
The Falcons recorded the only two shots in overtime, with the second proving to be the game-winnner.
UC Riverside returns home this week to host San Diego on Thursday, September 15 at 7 pm, and Gonzaga on Sunday, September 18 at 11 am.
